How to follow Clarisse Crémer during the Vendée Globe

Follow Clarisse’s Journey

On November 10th, the 40 skippers of the Vendée Globe will embark on the 10th edition of this iconic solo, non-stop round-the-world race. The boats will begin departing from the race pontoon at 08:00 (local time France, UTC +1), with an IMOCA leaving the dock every three minutes. Clarisse Cremer is scheduled to cast off at 09:39, marking an exciting moment as she heads to the start.

As the sailors pass through the famous Les Sables d’Olonne channel, it offers the last opportunity for the public to bid farewell to the skippers, creating an emotional atmosphere filled with support from thousands of well-wishers. This interaction comes after three weeks of celebrations in the race village, leading up to the start gun that will send the fleet around the globe at 13:02 local time.

Live Broadcasts

Two live programs will be produced by the Vendée Globe organization. The first will run from 07:30 to 10:30 (local time) for the dock-out from the pontoon, and the second will be from 12:15 to 14:00 (local time) for the start on the water and the initial miles of the course. These broadcasts will feature real-time data and engaging graphics.  More details on where these programs will be broadcast will be issued closer to the race start.

- Television: Many channels worldwide will broadcast the start day live, with specific channels to be confirmed later in the week.

- Digital: The start day programs will be available live on the Vendée Globe's YouTube channel, the race's official website, and their Facebook page.

Spectators can gather along the channel to witness the passage of the 40 boats. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we encourage consideration and respect for fellow fans. A giant screen will be set up a the base of the of the Arundel Tower to view the start.

For those wanting a different vantage point, the main beach of Les Sables d'Olonne offers views of the start, but binoculars are recommended for a better experience. A giant screen will also be positioned near the channel, facing the beach.

For Boaters

Yachtsmen will have the opportunity to watch the start from a designated area at sea, which will be specified on November 6 and available on the Vendée Globe interactive map. The port of Les Sables d'Olonne will be closed from 0600 to 1130 so compliance with safety instructions is essential.
