Transat Jacques Vabre : Clarisse & Alan across the start line !

At 9:30 am CET this morning, Clarisse Cremer & Alan Roberts took the start of the Transat Jacques Vabre, which will take them to Martinique in 10 to 12 days. The start of the Transat Jacques Vabre was originally scheduled for Sunday October 29, but due to poor weather conditions, the race was delayed. Only the fastest Maxi Trimarans - those capable of overtaking the front - set off for Martinique.

The IMOCA fleet has been waiting for a new favorable weather window for 9 days in the port of Le Harve. At 9:30 am on Tuesday, November 7 the start of the Transat Jacques Vabre Normandie Le Havre 2023 was finally underway as the fleet left the Normandy coast. With a fresh 25-knot wind & a crisp air - all the elements were in place to put on a magnificent show for the kick-off!

Now a more direct course, 3765 nautical miles long awaits the fleet. « The weather looks better than the previous week, there are no storms forecasted. However we'll be passing through a relatively classic winter front on Wednesday, so we’re expecting conditions to become rapidly tough» explained Clarisse Cremer yesterday night.
